You are invited to help a resident who needs assistance from the Caring Fund.
Suzanne Henkel, a current Landis Homes resident, shared her story about why she has given to the Caring Fund and why it’s important to her now.
Sue is independent and generous with her time and abilities. She used to own her own farmette. She enjoyed showing horses, specifically her Appaloosas. She liked knitting and crocheting things for other people and she was a good steward of her finances.

Unfortunately, she encountered some health challenges that forced her to sell her farmette. She moved to Landis Homes where she continues to knit and crochet and to teach others as well.
“It’s important for me to do things that are helpful and meaningful. But I have to accept where I am and I have done that. I gotta keep going no matter what. I appreciate that I’m running out of funds and can still live here. I like to give back by making sellable things so the proceeds go to the Caring Fund.”
Sue continues to make special items and her sales benefit the Caring Fund, even though she might need assistance eventually. Your gift will help residents like Sue continue to afford compassionate, high-quality care even after their personal finances can no longer cover the full cost of their care.
Your gift to the Caring Fund provides the same quality of care for each resident, without distinction between those with or without financial resources.
